Community Development, Planning and Facilitation


The course helps students become effective change agents in their communities. Students are introduced to tools and techniques to assist with community organizing and facilitation. Students learn to observe and assess the social and spatial landscape that they are working in, as well as to engage in self-reflective practices, as a process leading up to community consultation in design projects. Various techniques for leading group facilitation and conflict resolution are explored.
