Cultivating your own food is an invaluable skill. This introductory and practical 15-hour introduction to Food Gardening in the Pacific Northwest provides beginners with the requisite skills, knowledge, and support to begin their own organic growing projects at home. At the end of the program, participants understand plant growth requirements and how to grow food and medicinal herbs.  Skills and knowledge on the following topics are included: soil health, planning a garden, microclimate assessment, plant selection, plant propagation, composting, mulching, container gardening, disease prevention, and harvesting.
