This course explores the spectrum of mental health and focus on holistic interventions to support healing mental imbalances. Stress, anxiety, depression, psychosis (bipolar & schizophrenia spectrum), dissociation, suicidal ideation, phobias, borderline personality disorder and more are discussed. Students learn the necessary assessment tools, differential diagnosis and language to navigate the world of psychiatry as a holistic practitioner, as well as journey into the importance of spiritual mentoring and trauma informed practice. Students learn how to make customized treatment plans for patients. This includes the use of herbal preparations, nutrition, counselling, somatic embodiment and spiritual interventions. Guest speakers include Dr. Crosby Watler (Psychiatrist), Dr. Jenna Waddy (Naturopathic doctor) and Haida Medicine Man Doug Wilson.
