Advanced Myofascial Acupuncture Techniques

with Rory Knapp-Fisher, November 20-21, 2021

Course Information

When we think of ‘myofascial’ or ‘orthopedic’ acupuncture, the tendency is to think of motor points and trigger points, and needling ashi points to get pain relief. While this is a vital skill to have in the treatment of myofascial dysfunction, it’s far from the whole picture. The truth is that any acupuncture point can be considered an ‘ortho point’ if it is being used correctly. How do we use them correctly?  By considering and affecting the myofascial anatomy of the point.

In this workshop, we will go through a number of different needling techniques (some familiar and some new) and learn to sense how we are affecting myofascial structures. We will look deeper into some commonly used points and combinations and apply these myofascial techniques to make for more reliably effective treatments. Lastly, perhaps most importantly, we will use these techniques and point combos to cultivate a greater felt-sense of feedback in our needling and become more adept needlers for any type of treatment.
