Fasting’s Scientific Foundations & Clinical Applications

With Janie Pelletier

July 25-26, 2026

Workshop Information

This course examines fasting as a metabolic, cellular, and neuroendocrine intervention through contemporary biomedical research and integrative health perspectives. Students explore the mechanisms of fasting—including mitochondrial adaptation, metabolic switching, autophagy, immune regeneration, hormonal regulation, and gut–brain signalling—and critically evaluate fasting protocols such as intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating, and fasting mimicking diets.

The curriculum emphasizes safety, contraindications, ethical application, and embodied awareness. Students are invited to cultivate metabolic literacy and self-inquiry while respecting professional scope and individual variability.

*PRC diploma students will receive 1 NU academic credit for this workshop.
