From Forest to Sea: Therapeutic Aspects of Mushrooms and Seaweeds

Seaweeds are a true superfood that have been a key component in coastal peoples diet since at least 12,000 BCE. Bringing seaweed into our daily lives is advantageous to our well being for many reasons. Come learn about some of the phenomenal nutritive and medicinal benefits of these water world wonders! In this class we will look at the unique properties of the 3 categories of macro algae: reds, browns, and greens. Our main focus will be on local seaweeds and how to incorporate them into your daily regime. We will also discuss a variety of other traditional uses for seaweeds, some easy recipes to prepare, and how they can help regenerate the planet.
Join Master Herbalist Yarrow Willard as he unravels the science and folklore around mushrooms as medicine and superfood. This informative and insightful component will take you deep into the mycelial layer of the world. This intensive touches on many of the higher level tree mushrooms, which have a complementary modulatory effect on our external environment as well as our immune and other body systems. Learn why, how, and where they grow, as well as the best ways to unlock the healing powers that these fungal friends have to offer
Yarrow Willard is a Clinical/Master Herbalist and co-visionary of the Harmonic Arts Botanical Dispensary. Raised by herbalist parents, he has been immersed in the world of plant medicine since before he was born and is continually updating his knowledge with the growing edge science of reclaiming wellness. Yarrow shares health empowering practices and teachings through advanced nutrition and cultivating a deeper connection with the natural world.
Angela Willard became a Clinical Herbalist through the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing in 2005. She has since practiced as an Herbalist through many avenues including consulting, growing herbs, wildcrafting, and co-creating Harmonic Arts Botanical Dispensary. Angela actively adds herbal and health tools to her basket of wisdom by continually upgrading her knowledge with a strong focus on Women’s health and wellness. Sharing information that empowers people to live with integrity and reach their highest potential is a true calling, one which fuels her on her path. She balances her time between raising a young family and nourishing her passionate purpose as an herbalist.

For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person 30 days or more before the start of the course, registrants will receive a full tuition refund less a $40 non-refundable registration fee. For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person more than 14 days but less than 30 days before the start of the course, registrants will receive a 50% tuition refund. Without exception, no refunds will be given for course withdrawals less than 14 days before the start of the course.
