Course Information

This seminar will provide cutting edge information and applications for the information during all phases of cancer care. Utilizing current knowledge from Western Medicine, Functional Medicine Nutritional approaches, and Japanese/Chinese acupuncture and herbal therapies, patients can be supported through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The goal is to bridge the East and West and help patients navigate their illness successfully.


  1. Understand the use of integrative treatments to support patients during chemotherapy/radiation, recovery post treatment, and strategies for preventing recurrence
  2. Eight Extra Vessel and Divergent treatments for specific cancers
  3. Basic herbal therapies to use during chemotherapy and post chemo recovery phases
  4. Current diet and fitness strategies
  5. Problems that indicate when medical care is needed

Course Instructor

Dr. Butch Levy is a primary care physician with 37 years’ experience in clinical practice. Into his patient care he incorporates 20 years of Japanese Acupuncture and Kampo herbal training, along with Functional Medicine, for a unique integrated experience.

Throughout his career he has delivered babies, worked ER medicine and provided acute care to many. As the years have passed, he has focused more on difficult cases and chronic illness.

As part of his personal philosophy, Dr. Levy pursues educational experiences for colleagues and students. He has been working with medical students at the University of Colorado School of Medicine for 4 years. He has taught seminars on acupuncture and cancer care to the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, as well as joint seminars with Dr. Miki Shima of The Japanese American Acupuncture Foundations. These joint seminars on integrating oriental care and Western medicine have been Dr. Levy’s active building of connections to bridge concepts of Eastern and Western care, reflecting his goal to provide the best of both worlds for patient health.

Course Tuition

Regular – $300 (Early Bird – $285, until October 1)
Students* – $275 (Early Bird – $250, until October 1)
PRC Alumni – $285 (Early Bird – $265, until October 1)
*PRC diploma students will receive 1 ACU academic credit for this workshop.

Withdrawal Policy

For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person 30 days or more before the start of the course, registrants will receive a full tuition refund less a $40 non-refundable registration fee. For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person more than 14 days but less than 30 days before the start of the course, registrants will receive a 50% tuition refund. Without exception, no refunds will be given for course withdrawals less than 14 days before the start of the course.
