Orthopedic Assessment for Upper and Lower Limb

Workshop Information
This workshop will introduce clinicians to the concepts orthopedic testing. Over the course of this two day workshop, participants will cover the clinical implications of:
- Active and passive range of motion testing
- Difference between isometric, concentric, and eccentric muscle contraction
- The concepts of specificity versus sensitivity in testing
Basic knowledge of anatomy is an asset, but this course is targeted towards a beginning level understanding of orthopedic assessment and treatment.
Workshop Instructor
Jon Cain is a Certified Athletic Therapist who graduated from Camosun College in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Athletic and Exercise Therapy. He is a Victoria-born local with background in running, rock climbing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. With several years of experience in coaching young athletes as well, he brings an active approach to orthopedic treatment and rehab to clients in his private practice. A mind-body approach to health and guiding the body’s natural abilities to recovery are central philosophies to his treatment style.
Suggested Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of anatomy suggested but not required.
