Workshop Information
Healing happens in relationship. Whether you’re an herbalist, nutritionist, acupuncturist, or other health practitioner, your ability to recognize and respond to a client’s nervous system can profoundly influence how receptive and engaged they are throughout the healing process. A client’s experience of being seen, heard, understood, and supported is shaped not only by your clinical knowledge, but by your ability to create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe in the body, not just in the mind.
In this practice-based workshop you’ll learn key, foundational principles and tools from somatic therapy that will deepen your capacity to build trust, regulate the therapeutic space, and navigate the relational layers of client care.
Rather than focusing on theory alone, the weekend is designed to help you embody and integrate these concepts through practice; you’ll develop clinical skills through demonstrations, partner exercises, and case studies. You’ll also explore how your own nervous system state influences the therapeutic relationship, and learn practices to stay grounded with clients.
Throughout the weekend you’ll learn how to:
- Recognize common signs of nervous system regulation and dysregulation during client sessions
- Track shifts in a client’s state and understand what those changes may be communicating
- Respond in ways that help clients remain present, open, and engaged rather than overwhelmed or shut down
- Build therapeutic relationships that cultivate trust, safety, and collaboration
- Create grounded, trauma-informed containers while remaining within your own scope of practice
- Develop greater confidence navigating emotional moments that naturally arise in client care
- Bridge the gap between your clinical knowledge and the relational reality of working with people
When clients feel safe in relationship, they are more able to absorb information, follow through with treatment plans, and access the innate healing capacities of their own bodies. By learning to work with the nervous system, you’ll deepen your presence as a practitioner while supporting more meaningful and sustainable outcomes for your clients.
Whether you are just beginning your practice or have years of experience, this workshop will give you practical, embodied skills that complement any healing discipline and transform the way you work with people.

Workshop Instructor
Marie is a herbalist and somatic therapist. She works with the wisdom of the body and healing plants to support people to restore their nervous system and move through the world in authentic, embodied ways.
She focuses on emotional and spiritual wellness, as well as psychosomatic conditions.
Marie completed her herbal studies through Pacific Rim College, and is a Registered Herbal Therapist with the British Columbia Herbalists Association (BCHA). She is the co-founder of Althaea Herbals and host of The Marie Embodied Podcast. She completed her Somatic Relational Therapy training through Mariah Moser’s program, Opening to Grace and has studied ancestral healing with Daniel Foor.

Withdrawal Policy
For workshop withdrawals submitted in writing 30 days or more before the start of the workshop, registrants will receive a full tuition refund less a $40 non-refundable registration fee. For workshop withdrawals submitted in writing more than 14 days but less than 30 days before the start of the workshop, registrants will receive a 50% tuition refund. Without exception, no refunds will be given for withdrawals less than 14 days before the start of the workshop.
