The Art of Healing Women using TCM

with Dr. Martha Lucas, November 8-9, 2014

Course Information

This workshop will cover a variety of health concerns that women have throughout their lives that may be treated using acupuncture and herbal or nutritional prescriptions. Dr. Lucas will share her perspective on pulse diagnosis and treatment of common conditions that affect women.

Day 1:
– Menstrual issues: the “normal” period
Most women think that the “normal” period includes things like PMS, swollen breasts, etc. Dr. Lucas will talk about how to educate them and treat their PMS symptoms. She will look at endometriosis, the “little pink” period, and more.

– Emotional issues
This component explores how to treat issues like depression and anxiety. How do they look in the pulses for example, how do we open the heart/Spirit and keep the qi flow going, what does worry do to the digestion?

– Peri-menopausal issues
This list could go on and on because peri- menopause can last for 10 years! Dr. Lucas will talk about how to support women through this journey including the use of essential oils to address hormonal issues.

– Later in life issues
This can be one of our most emotional times of life. Discussion will focus on challenges caused by growing children, illness, lack of vibrancy, and relationship struggles to name a few.

Day 2
– Your First Fertility Choice: Program for enhancing the ability to conceive
The Mei Zen abdominal protocol is unique in the world of TCM – and effective! This component  includes learning and practicing the Mei Zen abdominal protocol. The instructor will also talk about how to use this protocol to treat core energetic issues like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
